Folklore

Wines of outstanding value, they put fruit character and expression first. We believe wine is like folklore itself, speaking to us of our past, present, and future. We make these wines with fruit sourced from our own vineyards spread across the southwest of Western Australia.

The vintage

The 2026 season was a kind one. Summer arrived without extremes, and the ocean breezes that shape this stretch of coast did their work day after day, keeping the vineyards cool and the fruit in excellent condition. Harvest began in mid-February with Chardonnay. Warm days and cool nights allowed the fruit to ripen slowly and evenly, building flavour and holding onto natural freshness. Flowering had gone smoothly, fruit set was strong, and disease pressure stayed low across the region. The result is a vintage of balance rather than power — whites with lift and clarity, reds with fine structure and length. A season that let the region show what it does best.

The Folklore range is built around distinctive varietal character. These are wines that are fruitful, powerful, aromatic and fresh. In the winery, the approach is deliberately gentle. Extraction is soft, free-run and pressings are kept separate, and stainless steel is used extensively to preserve aromatics and fruit purity. In the reds, tannin extraction is kept moderate, giving the wines immediate drinkability. Picking decisions are made at the point where natural acidity is still well preserved, so the wines hold their freshness and structure in bottle for up to five years. All Folklore fruit is grown on our own vineyards, representing the best of the estate’s viticulture across Frankland River, Pemberton and Margaret River.

The wine
